Our main areas of activity are research and assessment of the health status and health determinants of the population, compilation and publication of national health statistics, promotion of health and social well-being, development of health-affecting interventions and health-promoting programs, organization of health and social services and training, and consulting and influencing health policy makers. We rely on research to guide the priorities and determine the emphases of public health development work.

In our work, we are guided by the goals and vision set out in the documents “Research, Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (R&D&I) Development Plan 2021–2035” and “Population Health Development Plan 2020–2030”.

The NIID development plan defines our vision and mission, general goals and directions of action, and the most important activities to achieve them for the years 2025–2028.
