The IUCT-Oncopole, a cancer care, research, and training center in Toulouse, brings together the expertise of 1,800 professionals on a single site, accredited as a “Comprehensive Cancer Center.” It combines several cutting-edge clinical facilities for cancer treatment with a world-class research infrastructure, on an integrated campus that brings together public and private stakeholders, including industrial partners. The IUCT-Oncopole, which brings together the Oncopole Claudius Regaud (OCR) and several teams from the Toulouse University Hospital, treats more than 10,000 new patients each year, and more than one in eight patients is enrolled in clinical studies.
Specializing in rare and complex pathologies, the IUCT-Oncopole welcomes all patients requiring treatment for the following conditions: hematology, women’s cancers, head and neck cancers, skin cancers (melanomas), certain sarcomas, and urology (medical, innovative surgery).
The IUCT-Oncopole brings together all the cancer disciplines essential for detecting, treating, and monitoring the disease: surgery, medicine, radiotherapy and brachytherapy, nuclear medicine, interventional imaging, biology, and anatomic pathology. Disease management is based on a multidisciplinary approach that guarantees quality care: patient files are discussed and reviewed during weekly meetings involving physicians from different specialties. Thus, each patient receives a personalized care plan, the result of consultation between different specialists.
Physicians and researchers work daily on innovative therapeutic programs. The Institute provides them with high-tech platforms for optimal care, immediately incorporating the latest advances in both diagnostic and therapeutic fields.
The IUCT-Oncopole is part of the public cancer grouping spread across Toulouse at the following sites: IUCT-Oncopole, IUCT Purpan, and IUCT Rangueil-Larrey.
