The Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, EPERAM (SESARAM, EPERAM), is an integrated healthcare unit that functions as a coordinating body, on a complementary basis, for health centers and hospitals, and as a resource planning body, responsible for providing care to individuals, families, and social groups.

SESARAM, EPERAM, headquartered in Funchal, is a public legal entity, of a business nature, endowed with administrative, financial, and patrimonial autonomy, under Decree-Law No. 558/99 of December 17, as amended by Decree-Law No. 300/2007 of August 23.

It is governed by the regime applicable to public business entities, with the specificities set forth in its bylaws approved by Regional Legislative Decree No. 12/2012/M of July 2, as amended by Article 12 of the Constitution. 59 of Regional Legislative Decree No. 13/2019/M, of August 22, by Regional Legislative Decree No. current regulations for the RAM Health Service.
