The Mulhouse and South Alsace Regional Hospital Group is a public healthcare institution. It is recognized as the reference hospital for the GHT12 region and, thanks to its various sites, as a local hospital for populations in different catchment areas. It is the largest non-university hospital in France.
The Mulhouse South Alsace Regional Hospital Group was born from the desire to bring together public healthcare institutions in South Alsace in order to maintain and expand healthcare services for all catchment areas. It was thus created on January 1, 2015, the date of the merger of the sites of the Mulhouse Hospital Center (Emile Muller and Hasenrain), the Saint-Jacques Hospital Center in Thann, the Cernay Geriatric Hospital, and the Bitschwiller-lès-Thann EHPAD. Two years to the day after its creation, the group extended its influence to reference zone 12 on January 1, 2017 with the entry into its ranks of the Saint-Morand hospital center in Altkirch, the Sierentz hospital, and the Saint-Sébastien EHPAD in Rixheim.
