The Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of the Valencian Community (Fisabio) is a non-profit scientific organisation, whose primary purpose is to promote, favor, disseminate, develop and execute scientific-technical research and health and biomedical innovation in the area of ​​the Valencian Community.

Fisabio’s scope of action covers the entire Valencian Community, integrating and managing the R&D&I that is developed in Fisabio-Public Health (Fisabio-HP) and Fisabio Health Departments (Fisabio-HD).

Fisabio-HD covers 19 of the 24 Health Departments of the Valencian Community (with their corresponding reference hospitals, primary care centers and public health centers), the Transfusion Center of the Valencian Community and 5 Hospitals for Care of Chronic and Long Stay Patients.

Fisabio offers services to researchers from the Valencian health network, specialists who work on research and innovation projects and clinical studies managed through the Foundation. Likewise, it coordinates the Valencian Network of Biobanks.

Through the Framework Cooperation Agreement between the Department of Health and Fisabio, the collaborative relationships between both institutions are regulated.
