IARC@60 “Cancer Research into Action” Conferenceย in Lyon!

We are thrilled to share that our Scientific Coordinator, Gijs Geleijnse, took the stage at the landmark IARC@60 “Cancer Research into Action” Conference in Lyon!

Representing the CancerWatch JA during the “Cancer Surveillance in the 21st Century” session, Gijs delivered a compelling presentation titled: “๐˜พ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š๐™ง๐™’๐™–๐™ฉ๐™˜๐™ โ€“ ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ข๐™š๐™ก๐™ฎ, ๐™๐™ž๐™œ๐™ ๐™ฆ๐™ช๐™–๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ ๐™€๐™ช๐™ง๐™ค๐™ฅ๐™š๐™–๐™ฃ ๐™˜๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š๐™ง ๐™ง๐™š๐™œ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ฎ ๐™™๐™–๐™ฉ๐™–.”
In front of a global audience of epidemiologists, researchers, and policymakers, he highlighted how CancerWatch is uniting 91 organizations across 29 European countries to build a sustainable, automated, and high-quality infrastructure for population-based cancer registries.

Key takeaways from his intervention focused on:

Progress is a collaborative effort! Pictured below, Gijs joins an incredible panel of international experts (Les Mery, Marion Piรฑeros, Max Parkin, Heba Fouad. MD, PhD, Yek-Ching (Stella) Kong) driving global cancer surveillance forward. Connecting research with real-world public health impact is at the very heart of what we do.

A huge congratulations to Gijs and the entire session panel for lighting the way toward the future of data-driven cancer control!
